December 25: And Merry Meet Again
Greetings of the season.
I am packing up and finding places to stash what came out during the week. Spending time with a witch sister who is also a skoolie sister has been restful and reviving. The energy that was so heavy through yesterday has lightened noticeably. Sunshine, both from above and from the fur baby who’s made himself at home on Karmalita, has helped. I keep thinking back to Pye and how different the two cats are, then realizing I am also different than I was fourteen years ago. Even four years ago.
My next three nights are planned and then I continue on to Vero Beach to see the woman who, never having met me, put me up in her driveway three years ago about this same time of year. It was divine intervention we met, only because the mother of a woman in my coven back in Connecticut was connected to Robin who’d moved to Vero Beach, where I’d been hanging with the friends I recently visited in Tennessee. Robin and I bonded instantly and I return as often as possible. One of my favorite beaches is also in Vero Beach. It’s there I hope to come up with a plan for the next two months.
I arrived here in St. Augustine on Yule Eve, which was Mother’s Night, and parked behind her bus. We had an Italian dinner together to honor our mothers’ families, both coming from Italy. This year I’m using the Yule season for something other than the twelve wishes ritual. I was in the process of reviewing the “13 Sacred Nights Oracle: A Yearly Solstice Tradition” for Pagan Pages so I began drawing cards from that deck each night. Although the author start it on Christmas Eve, I began to map out influences for 2026 on Yule Eve. When the first half of a ritual I did on Yule took longer to complete than I anticipated, the second half is being held until the last night.
Here’s hoping 2026 is better for us all.
