September 27: A Plan Has Formed

Do you remember last night when I wrote I was looking for a sign? Well, not five minutes after I posted, I was gifted a ticket to a Nomad Nexus gathering in Illinois. I do not believe in coincidences! The event I wanted to get to in Oregon was a different nomad gathering. It will take me about a week to drive to Oakwood IL, so I’ll miss the first few days, but still have a week. Three of my first five stops at Harvest Hosts/Boondockers Welcome have been approved. I need one more to avoid a day with a very long drive (for me). 

This puts me in the center of the country, and I’m not committing yet, but I’m leaning towards going to Florida rather than Arizona for the winter … by way of Tennessee, perhaps North Carolina, and Georgia to see friends. I need a new legal address and being in Florida might help me find one. If not Florida, almost any state that doesn’t charge income tax on Social Security will be considered. It’s a blessing knowing Monica has offered her farm in New Hampshire again. It was where I started out in 2019.

My heater is working as of today!! I have a lot of errands to do in Cheyenne Sunday, and Monday I head south and east. I’m both excited and nervous as the unexpected adventure begins.
