August 2: My Messes

Today I spent about six hours assembling pocket fold-ups with a Samhain/Witchy theme (as opposed to the next bunch I hope to make for Yule), all spread out on my friend PJ’s dining room table. I tried putting them together on Karmalita, with four plastic but my small fold up camp table just wasn’t going to cut it. Besides, Sunshine thinks it’s his table, which is why my computer is currently on my lap. And I got to leave it like that and come back tomorrow to work on it some more before packing it up and putting it back on the bus. It won’t be long before I get my own dining room table. Not that big, though, and I’m pretty sure Sunshine will still think it’s his.

When I got back on the bus, I found another mess. I started my feather collection here before I had a cat who could jump on the counter. It seems he was trying to part the curtains to look out the bus window into the dining room window just opposite it.

I’m about to make another bit of a mess, making a corn dolly as one of my Lughnasadh crafts that will go onto another Lughnasadh craft of braided and knotted cord magic. I like these cross-quarter sabbats because I have come to celebrate them from the traditional date to the astrological date, giving me about a week to bask in the energy.
