July 21: My New Home

I didn’t sleep well Sunday night, with my heart and my mind having a tug of war. Monday I drew The Raven again. And did she ever bring clarity. My mind tried to rationalize the first option because it was most affordable and cute, but it was on the second floor and it was carpeted. I didn’t have to decide. The manager would not allow me to park the bus in their lot. So, left with two options, priced the same, my mind and my heart chose the cottage on the lake in the middle of nowhere vs the one bedroom in a West Hartford suburb close to a park, but closer to the highway.

So I ended up driving out to see the cottage on the lake. And I fell in love. With the lake, with the little place, and Laurie’s vision for the renovations. I couldn’t ask for more – and it will come furnished from her huge collection of pieces stored in multiple places. We’re talking a king size bed, a washer/dryer in the mudroom, and a wardrobe, plus lawn furniture, use of the kayak, space to garden, WiFi, and sunsets to watch over the lake. And Laurie! In addition to being the best ever landlord, she is also going to be my wellness coach, sharing her nutritional research and diet details … along with vegetables from her gardens. Move-in will be September sometime I think.

I didn’t sleep well last night either because I was so overwhelmed knowing dreams are coming true. Two years ago or two months from now it wouldn’t have come together. If I could cry, I would have. (I only cry over things like the ending of The Polar Express.) We used to vacation on a lake in Maine every summer for almost 30 years, and the places I most liked to boondocks were by water … but I think more nights were spent at Cracker Barrels and truck stops. I don’t have to use apps to find those places in the next chapter of my life, I’ll already be there! It took until about 4am to stop fretting about finances, worrying about Karmalita’s feelings because I realized I will most likely be selling her, and getting accustomed to that odd feeling of believing I’m worthy. This path, and knowing magick is real, keeps me knowing everything will work out. That fit with today’s card – The Crystal Ball – trusting the wisdom of my intuition.
